Privacy Policy
Effective date: Juli 2026
Last updated: 8 August 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how personal data is collected and processed when you visit https://www.beethename.com (the “Website”) or contact its operator.
1. Data controller
The data controller responsible for the processing described in this Privacy Policy is:
Andrew Muller
70 Triq Dun Luigi Rigord
Pembroke, Malta
Email: andy@beethename.com
No data protection officer has been appointed because the Website's processing activities do not require one under Article 37 of the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”).
2. Personal data we process
2.1 Contact enquiries
When you contact us through the Website's contact form or by email, we may process:
- your name;
- your email address;
- the contents of your message;
- any other information you voluntarily include in your enquiry; and
- technical metadata associated with the message, where generated by the Website or email service.
We process this information to receive, review and respond to your enquiry and to keep an appropriate record of our correspondence.
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in communicating with Website visitors and responding to enquiries under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Where your enquiry concerns the possible provision of a service or another arrangement with you, the legal basis may instead be taking steps at your request before entering into a contract under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.
Providing your name, email address and message is voluntary, but we may be unable to respond if you do not provide sufficient contact information.
Contact enquiries are normally retained for no longer than 12 months after the last correspondence. Information may be kept longer where reasonably necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims or to comply with a legal obligation.
2.2 Website hosting, security and technical data
The Website is hosted and operated using Squarespace. When you access the Website, Squarespace may process technical information necessary to deliver and secure the Website, such as:
- IP address;
- browser and device information;
- date and time of access;
- requested pages and URLs;
- security, diagnostic and server-log information; and
- cookie-consent choices.
This processing is necessary for our legitimate interests in operating a functional, reliable and secure Website under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Where information is stored on or accessed from your device, strictly necessary technologies are used only where they are required to provide the Website or a feature you request.
The applicable retention periods are determined according to the nature of the relevant security or operational record and Squarespace's applicable retention practices. We retain such data only for as long as reasonably necessary for Website operation, security, troubleshooting and legal compliance.
2.3 Google Analytics
Subject to your prior consent, the Website uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Website. Depending on your device and consent choices, analytics information may include:
- pages viewed and interactions with the Website;
- approximate location derived from technical information;
- browser, operating-system and device category;
- visit duration and referring source; and
- online identifiers generated by analytics cookies.
The purpose is to measure Website use and improve its content and performance. The legal basis is your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. Non-essential analytics cookies must not be placed before you consent.
Google Analytics user-level and event-level data is intended to be retained for up to 14 months, subject to the configuration of the Google Analytics property. Aggregated reports that no longer identify an individual may be retained for longer.
You may refuse analytics cookies or withdraw your consent at any time through the Website's Manage Cookies control. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before consent was withdrawn.
3. Social-media links
The Website contains ordinary links to our pages on Facebook and Instagram. These links do not, by themselves, mean that we receive personal data from Meta while you remain on the Website. If you select a social-media link, you leave the Website and Meta may receive technical information, including your IP address and information about the page or link through which you arrived.
Your subsequent use of Facebook or Instagram is governed by Meta's own privacy information and your settings on those services. We do not use a Meta Pixel on the Website unless this Privacy Policy and the cookie-consent mechanism are updated accordingly.
4. Recipients and service providers
We do not sell or rent personal data. Personal data may be disclosed, where necessary, to service providers that support the Website, including:
- Squarespace Ireland Limited and its group companies, for Website hosting, security, forms and platform functionality;
- Google Ireland Limited and its group companies, for Google Analytics, where you consent; and
- providers supporting our email communications.
These providers may act as processors or, for some activities, as independent controllers. They process information according to their own contractual and legal obligations.
Personal data may also be disclosed where required by law, to protect our rights or the rights of others, or in connection with legal proceedings.
5. International transfers
Some service providers or their group companies may process data outside Malta or the European Economic Area (“EEA”), including in the United States. Where GDPR applies to such a transfer, the relevant provider must use a lawful transfer mechanism, such as an adequacy decision, including the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where applicable, or European Commission Standard Contractual Clauses together with supplementary safeguards where required.
Further information about applicable safeguards may be requested using the contact details above. Information is also available in the privacy documentation of Squarespace and Google.
6. Cookies
The Website uses strictly necessary cookies and similar technologies. With your consent, it may also use analytics and performance cookies. Further details, including purposes, providers and expected durations, are provided in our Cookie Policy.
7. Your data-protection rights
Subject to the conditions and limitations in the GDPR, you may have the right to:
- obtain confirmation as to whether we process your personal data and request access to it;
- request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data;
- request erasure of your personal data;
- request restriction of processing;
- object to processing based on legitimate interests;
- receive certain personal data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and request its transmission to another controller;
- withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent; and
- lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
To exercise your rights, contact andy@beethename.com. Requests are normally handled free of charge and without undue delay, in any event within one month. This period may be extended by up to two further months where permitted by the GDPR, taking into account the complexity and number of requests. We may request information reasonably necessary to verify your identity.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Maltese supervisory authority:
Office of the Information and Data Protection Commissioner (IDPC)
Floor 2, Airways House
High Street
Sliema SLM 1549
Malta
Website: https://idpc.org.mt
You may also contact the supervisory authority in the EU or EEA country of your habitual residence, place of work or the place of the alleged infringement.
8. Automated decision-making
We do not use personal data collected through the Website to make decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal effects or similarly significantly affect you.
9. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the nature of the Website and the personal data processed. However, no method of internet transmission or electronic storage is completely secure.
10. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the Website, our processing activities or applicable law. The current version will be published on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Where a material change affects processing based on consent, we will request new consent where legally required.
11. Contact
